The whole point of hosting an exchange student is to just incorporate them into your daily family life. You don't have to pick any particular activity to entertain her. Just include her in what you do. You will get to know her in no time.

Well when a student comes from a different country they want to experience your culture and lifestyle, do anything that you would normally do... stick to the same meals, routine and general lifestyle. Offer her things to do like cinema, shopping, ice skating etc. whatever you like doing. Have fun! =]

Let me be honest with you. When I was 15, my family hosted an exchange student from Mexico who was my age. This is how it went. For the first 2-3 months, we HATED each other!! Then we ended up adjusting and getting used to the situation and now 10 years later we are still best friends. So a few years ago, my family decided to do it again, forgetting all the initial drama, and hosted a Brazilian exchange student who was the same age as my younger sister. She came to me after the first week wondering why she wasn't best freinds with the girl and hated her! Be prepared mentally. They are in a completely new environment and they may lean on you and you may feel like they are "needy" or "mopey". They may cling to you and you may want your space. It will be hard for both of you and its ok to tell them sometimes that you need space. But once you both get used to the new arrangement, it will be awesome!! For activites, we often went to the mall or the pool and just hung out. I did the same things with her that I did with my other friends, but we often had a spanish-english english-spanish dictionary with us at all times. We just tried to have a normal conversation and when we didn't know the word, we'd look it up. Thats how she learned the language. It might be weird at first, but it gets better with time.
