If I fly to england as my 6 month visa expires, and so leave the schengen group of countries, can I then fly back to spain as a tourist?

You need to chcek with a Spanish consulate (preferably the one that issued your student visa). However, there should be no problem visiting Spain as a tourist after your student visa expires.

I want to become an English Professor in Spain?
I am a senior in high school, but my career choice for the past five-six years has been to become an English teacher to Spain college students. I am in English 4, Business English, and my second year in Spanish. I am an American girl and I intend on going to college next year. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You'll need a Ph.D in English and need to maintain fluency in Spanish. If you can do both of those things, I believe that you will find a job fairly easily as an English professor in a Spanish university =] All the best of luck.

Fund raising ideas for class trip to Spain?

Fund raising ideas for class trip to Spain?
My son's 8th grade Spanish class is planning a trip to Spain for next summer. Each student needs to come up with $3500! Unless we do some serious fund raising he won't be able to go. Our ideas so far include: Yard sale, Penny drive, car wash, selling stuff on eBay & bake sales. Does anyone have any great ideas? To Cherry Koolaid- It's not a vacation is a Study Program. There is no way I would let him go if it was just for fun.

The actual event, crazy as it may sound, involves racing rubber ducks down a local waterway. Your local community "adopts" the ducks for a chance to win valuable donated prizes. Duck races have become a unique and profitable event for many charities. Your group sells a ticket linked to a number that's painted on one of the racing rubber ducks. Depending on the prizes involved, tickets are priced somewhere between $5-$10 a ticket. A standard size for a race is 3,000 rubber ducks, but you can adjust that up or down depending on the size of your group and the amount you need to raise. Large plastic bags full of the ducks are simultaneously emptied into the water. The winning duck is the one that floats to the finish line first. It adds a little extra zing to the old-fashioned raffle ticket sale. Prizes can also be awarded in various categories to add to the festivities. Many groups organize their "race" around a group picnic near the waterway and make a leisurely afternoon out of your fundraiser event. English student studying abroad in Spain?

English student studying abroad in Spain?
I've nearly completed my A Levels (I will have an AS in Enlish Language and A Levels in Art and Textiles when i am done). I want to study in Spain furthering my art, probably fashion or fine art direction. (I am going there next summer to take an intensive Spanish course although the places i have looked at teach in English but hey, immerse oneself right!) Been looking at sites and there seems to be quite a few good universities mentioning taking international students but i cant find any information about how much the fees would be. If anyone has studied in Spain (especially art type courses) then could you give me a rough idea of the tuition costs, entry requirements etc and also how did you find the experience? Thank you :)

Hello! A great school to learn Spanish is Don Quijote, they have branches in the most important cities. I can recommend you Salamanca. It's not far from Madrid - good for flight connections and it's one of the best in Spain. Apart from learning the language you will enjoy the experience as it is a very cosmopolitan city but at the same time not too big so it's very manageable. There are lots of cultural events going on all year long and hey! great for socialising :) Trust me, great place to go! Been there and done it all :) Best of luck!

I wasn't taking art courses in Spain, but i was there for a semester in college. As Sue Queen said, Salamanca is a great city for a student studying in Spain. That's where I was. I took courses taught in Spanish at the University of Salamanca. Being somewhat centrally located, you can get almost anywhere in the country in a reasonable amount of time by train. I went through a program called the Institute of European Studies (IES). Have fun!
